Thalassa is a full-blown destination night out, not a quiet dinner. Its founder Mariketty Grana has since moved the flagship operation to a bigger waterfront estate at Teso in Vaddy, Siolim, on the banks of the Chapora river. The vibe has shifted from bohemian cliffside to waterfront-luxury-estate, and the extra space was a necessity, the old spot's crowds had become unmanageable.
What hasn't changed is the formula that made it iconic: generous Greek and Mediterranean food, blue-and-white taverna styling, sunset as the main event, and evenings that build into music, fire dancers and performances. It's a premium, see-and-be-seen destination that draws a big, dressed-up crowd, and it works as much as a night out as a dinner. The setting is now river rather than open sea, which some purists miss and many find more comfortable.
