Suluban Beach
Iconic surf spot accessed through a cave, below Single Fin.
The place
Suluban is defined by the approach: stairs, a squeeze between rock walls, and a cave that frames the sea. The sand itself is small and comes and goes with the tide, but the setting is one of the most photographed on the Bukit.
What to expect
Surfers paddling out to Uluwatu, photographers, and a steady trickle of visitors making the descent. At high tide there is little beach; at low tide the rock shelf opens up.
Good to know
Check the tide before you go, wear shoes with grip, and take care on wet rock. It is a walk down and up, not a lounging beach.
Nearby
Single Fin is directly above, and Uluwatu Temple is minutes away, so a late-afternoon here rolls naturally into sunset drinks and the Kecak dance.
