Nyang Nyang Beach
A long, wild beach that still asks for a walk.
The place
Nyang Nyang is what much of the Bukit looked like before the roads: a long, open beach at the bottom of a cliff path, big enough to swallow its visitors. The rusting shipwreck near the south end has become the photo that draws people down.
What to expect
Space, surf offshore, and quiet. The walk down and back is real, and there is little in the way of shade, food or services on the sand, so most people bring what they need.
Good to know
Allow time and water for the walk, go earlier in the day for shade and cooler sand, and carry out what you carry in. Conditions change with development, so access can vary.
Nearby
Uluwatu Temple and the Pecatu clifftop sit above, and Padang Padang is a short drive north.
