When to go
Goa's year turns on the monsoon. From November to March the days are hot and dry and the nights cooler, the easiest months for beaches and forts. April and May are the most humid stretch, warm even after dark. The rains arrive in June and are heaviest in July, when the coast turns green, the sea is too rough to swim and most beach shacks close until the season starts again.

The wet season, influenced by the southwest monsoon, occurs from late May to early October, bringing frequent and sometimes torrential rains, accompanied by high humidity. The pre-monsoon period from March to May is the hottest.
